How Bioinformatics Workshops Work

Workshops are short, focused sessions organised in a clear hierarchy. Categories group related topics; inside each category sit individual workshop programmes; and every programme is delivered in exactly three fixed variants pitched at different audiences. You pick the category, then the programme, then the variant that fits you.

The Three Fixed Variants

Every bioinformatics workshop programme runs in three set versions:

  • School students (classes 9–12) — foundational, concept-first
  • UG & PG college students — applied, tool-oriented
  • Professionals & research scholars — advanced, practice- and research-oriented

The same topic is pitched and paced to suit each group.

Short Format, Sharp Focus

Workshops are deliberately compact — intensive sessions that build one clear skill or concept, such as running a BLAST search, building a phylogenetic tree or writing a first Biopython script. They are ideal for a fast, low-commitment introduction or a targeted top-up.

What You Take Away

You leave with a concrete, demonstrable skill, worked examples to revisit and a participation certificate. Workshops are also a low-risk way to sample a tool before committing to fuller training or an internship.

Explore Workshop Categories

Bioinformatics workshops are organised into categories that lead to individual programmes, each offered in the three fixed variants. Explore the categories below to find a topic and pick the variant that matches you.
